Fort Bend Business Coalition Endorses Bill Rickert for Re-Election as County Treasurer

Pro-business organization recognizes Rickert’s commitment to responsible government, sound financial stewardship and a strong Fort Bend economy

FORT BEND COUNTY, TEXAS – Fort Bend County Treasurer Bill Rickert announced today that he has received the official endorsement of the Fort Bend Business Coalition in the November 3, 2026, General Election.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Fort Bend Business Coalition,” Rickert said. “The Coalition understands that a thriving business community depends on responsible government, fiscal discipline, reasonable regulation and the rule of law. Those principles have guided my service as County Treasurer and will continue to guide me in a third term.”

Established in 2020, the Fort Bend Business Coalition supports candidates and elected officials who understand the needs of the business community and are committed to making Fort Bend County one of the best places in Texas and the nation to conduct business.

Rickert brought decades of private-sector executive experience in the oil and gas and information technology industries to the Treasurer’s Office. His career included responsibility for complex international operations, global cultures, multiple currencies and differing legal and regulatory environments.

Since taking office in 2019, Rickert has worked to modernize Treasury operations, strengthen fraud protections, reduce reliance on paper checks, expand electronic payment capabilities and improve the quality and transparency of the County’s financial and investment reporting. His office also maintained uninterrupted operations throughout the COVID-19 emergency because of modernization and business-continuity measures implemented before the pandemic.

“This endorsement is especially meaningful because it reflects the connection between effective public financial management and a healthy local economy,” Rickert said. “Businesses and residents alike deserve a county government that protects taxpayer dollars, prepares for the future and operates with transparency and accountability.”

Rickert added that he will continue working with the County’s financial team, Commissioners Court and outside investment professionals to safeguard public funds, maintain appropriate liquidity and pursue competitive returns without compromising safety.

“There is no partisan way to safeguard tax dollars – there is only the right way,” Rickert said. “I am grateful for the Fort Bend Business Coalition’s confidence and respectfully ask the voters of Fort Bend County for their support in the General Election.”

The General Election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
